Off The Beaten Track - Guest Review

My wife and I chose to stay here for a special weekend thanks to a recommendation from a friend. The Lakeview Lodge was simply awesome. Right from the time of checking in that was friendly and welcoming through to leaving after our special 3 nights. The lodge is extremely spacious, comfortable and very relaxing. I loved the fact that lodge was fully contained with everything that we needed. The bed was ultra comfortable and waking up to that view in the morning was unbelievable! To be onsite of a working farm was special especially when there was a baby calf born in the paddock beside the drive as we drove in and out the first couple of days. The location was perfect as we headed through to Tauranga and the Mount one day, another day to Rotorua and a really great dinner in Cambridge only 10-minutes away.

Right from the very beginning we were treated well, all our questions were answered, even our extra requests were handled professionally. The place is one of the most beautiful ones we've ever seen, and the view is stunning. A true gem in New Zealand, and a great place to stay if you visit Hobbiton. There isn't anything we didn't like. The whole stay and experience was perfect.

My family and I stayed at your Lodge a couple weeks ago. It was a really nice place to stay. We love it. And you’ve put so much thought into this house. Really was a comfortable stay. Thank you! And thank you for the farm tour. It was really nice of you spending some time to show us around and explaining what goes into dairy farming. My dad loves New Zealand so much. He says he wants to retire there and live on a farm like you. Have a “Lakeview Lodge” of his own but have someone helping out with the animals. I just hope I’ll have another chance to come back to this beautiful land and explore some more.

I was fortunate to spend a night here recently, but will certainly return.  This property is the ultimate sophisticated sanctuary for a group of friends and family, or a corporate retreat.  Every single detail has been well thought out, beautiful bedrooms, bathrooms and shared spaces in and out.  Modern and attractively styled, comfortable and luxurious.  The view is stunning and the property is conveniently located close to Matamata, Cambridge and the very heartland of the Waikato making it a terrific base from which to explore this truly beautiful part of New Zealand.

We had a family gathering at the Lodge(grandfathers 70th) and had both ends booked. We had a fantastic time, we enjoyed the beautiful views, and the lovely decorated rooms. The whole Lodge was very well kitted out to suit the whole family (ages 2-71). We also enjoyed a lovely dinner catered for us by Gourmet Delicious. We will be back again for sure!

* This place was awesome. Amazing views. Spacious house, beautifully decorated. Rae very welcoming, made you feel at home and well looked after. Also very central to many activities eg Hobbiton, Glow Worm CDaves, Cambridge, Rotorua. Make sure u stay at least a few nights so you can really enjoy the luxury.

We stayed with our extended family of 24 for a family wedding up the road. All together this lodge provided ease of family time, travelling together to venue, eating with brilliant facilities and relaxing with fabulous views and space for us to play croquet and rugby on the lawn. And nibbles and drinks on the deck for those of us who wanted to watch the entertainment while the sun set over the lake. Perfect for our family. Cost effective as we filled every bed, and didn't have to eat out. Thanks so much!
